The activities carried out in the Mechanical and Electronic Shopfloor in Milan support the activities covered by the Institute’s research lines and related projects.

Collaboration with the Institute’s research teams mainly involves the conception, design and production of mechanical and mechatronic prototypes (components, machines and systems).

The main work carried out in the shopfloor ranges from the wiring of electrical panels to the production of circuit boards, from precision mechanical machining for material removal to welding.

In addition, the shopfloor is involved in the maintenance of the Institute’s machine inventory and its mechanical, electrical and electronic subassemblies.
