Regions and DIHs alliance for AI-driven digital transformation of European Manufacturing SMEs
The activities of the AI -REGIO project aim to consolidate collaboration in the pan-European network of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH) by enhancing the offer that regional DIHs can provide to manufacturing SMEs for creating an impact:
1. At the POLITICAL level: improving the coordination of regional smart specialization strategies through closer cooperation between European regions, EU and non-EU countries to ensure that innovations can be brought to European and global markets thanks also to Four Motors for Europe initiative and the I4MS Community and Innovation Collaboration platform.
2. At the TECHNOLOGICAL level: improving the transfer of knowledge through the DIH network. AI-REGIO using some results of previous EU-funded projects such as BEinCPPS, MIDIH, L4MS and AI4EU will help integrate them into the offers of digital innovation centers. These digital production platforms will turn benefit both from the current services of the digital innovation hubs and through the introduction of solutions in the field of artificial intelligence.
3. At the level of ENTERPRISES: updating the DIH offer with applications based on artificial intelligence. The DIHs and SMEs participating in AI REGIO will jointly conduct 30 regional application experiments focusing on the adoption of AI technologies in specific industrial cases.
