Monitoraggio Attivo dell’InfrastrutturA

The MAIA project aims to develop innovative technological solutions and a suite of integrated services able to perform, in real time, an accurate assessment of the state of safety and security of the railway infrastructure. Moreover, MAIA aims to make reliable predictions in case of events such as failures and malfunctions, making possible the planning of scheduled maintenance, drastically reducing operating costs and increasing the quality of service offered.
The data acquired, analyzed, aggregated and correlated with contextual information from other sources, will allow to identify in a timely manner the presence of intentional threats (physical and cyber-attacks to the entire infrastructure or parts of it), the imminent manifestation of malfunctions and / or failures, to assess the degree of security and resilience against natural or accidental events that could jeopardize the railway infrastructure creating inconvenience or danger to society and citizens.
Starting from data on mass storage units and acquired in specific acquisition campaigns, the activity of STIIMA is oriented to the development of a software demonstrator able to perform a 3D reconstruction of the railway infrastructure with an accuracy of 1cm at 5m distance. Graphical tools will enable to navigate and query the final result, enabling to verify and assess with on which it will be possible to verify the reconstruction accuracy.
