Summary of research activities: Cosimo Patruno conducts basic research activities on the main methodologies, algorithms, and technologies to realize intelligent agents and systems. In particular, his activities are mainly focused on the study of autonomous navigation and the location of robots with artificial vision and laser triangulation techniques. He, therefore, deals with developing innovative methods and algorithms of vision and artificial intelligence to support the decision that a human operator, an autonomous robot, or an intelligent system, must take to complete a given task or an assigned action.
Using disciplines such as computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning, the data obtained is interpreted to provide decision support or information of interest. In addition to data processing and software development, Cosimo is responsible for defining the most appropriate hardware setup for the creation of acquisition or perception systems
